Meet Tracey Pomerance-Poirier Tracey believes that Mah Jongg is more than just a game. Mah Jongg is a social gathering for sure, but it’s also a challenge, a brain exercise, a healthy distraction, a creative outlet and very much a study in human behavior. Tracey lives in the San Fernando Valley, where in addition to her work in local politics, she is president of Temple Judea’s sisterhood, where she has been running their Mah Jongg tournaments for several years. Through Temple Judea’s sisterhood, Tracey has been giving Mah Jongg lessons for several years now, as well as hosting a monthly Mah Jongg night at the temple. She enjoys playing in Mah Jongg tournaments around Los Angeles and plays in a number of different games in a regular basis, where she has met many amazing people. Tracey likens Mah Jongg to a religion: “When you truly believe in something, you want to spread it around. I find myself proselytizing any non-player I meet. Once someone becomes a Mah Jongg player, their life is changed for the better!” When Tracey isn’t playing Mah Jongg, she enjoys hiking, tennis, movies, politics and travel. Tracey is married and has two grown daughters.
